The opening of casinos in the Baltimore/D.C. area has brought another benefit besides places for Maryland sportsbooks. The casinos increased the performance spaces, so more acts can come to the area to play venues at sizes that fit their audience. They also have allowed for higher ticket prices.
The Top 5 highest-priced shows coming to Maryland over the next two months are playing casinos, all but “Babyface” at MGM National Harbor. Worried about missing a bet on a game which is the same night as one of these events? With the launch of betting, you will be able to download any licensed app and bet from the palm of your hand. We can guarantee you will see exclusive Caesars Maryland promo codes and other offers from leading operators.
The Most Expensive Tickets for Nov.-Dec.
*Lowest price taken on Oct. 25
**Some ticket prices are based on resale ticket options on Ticketmaster.
At No. 1 is Fantasia (aka Fantasia Barrino), the 2004 winner of “American Idol,” whose lowest-priced seat is $155. Fantasia is touring behind her latest album, “Sketchbook,” but given the Dec. 23 show date, we think she’ll be singing some Christmas songs.
At No. 2 is droll stand-up comedian John Mulaney, with his “From Scratch” tour. The show is Dec. 8 and the cheap seats are $149. Expect some “new dad” jokes. Mulaney is also performing at the Hippodrome at France-Merrick Performing Arts Center in Baltimore on Dec. 10, and available tickets are almost $50 less.
R&B crooner Kenneth “Babyface” Edmonds is at the Hall at Live! in Hanover on Dec. 3. You can groove to his sound for $123.
Back at MGM on Nov. 25 is El Gran Combo ($119), the Puerto Rican salsa orchestra celebrating its 60th anniversary.
More R&B song stylings will be at MGM on Nov. 13 when neo-soul founder/influencer Maxwell ($118) takes the stage for his “Night Tour.”
No. 6 brings Yung Gravy & bbno$ to the Fillmore Silver Spring on Nov. 19. Tickets are $112, but the show is reportedly sold out, so who knows what you can pay on the secondary market if you want to go badly enough?
The longtime alt-rock band, They Might Be Giants, hits Rams Head Live in Baltimore on Dec. 18. Tickets are $110.
For $92 you can see Indian singer and TV star Shreya Ghoshal at MGM on Nov. 11. Ghoshal is arguably the biggest singing star in India, so if you understand Hindi or Bengali, this could be like a Taylor Swift concert.
“TINA: The Tina Turner Musical,” opens for eight shows at the Hippodrome at France-Merrick Performing Arts Center in Baltimore on Nov. 15. Tickets are $85.
Sports Events Crack List, Barely
Sports contests don’t hit the list until No. 10, when Ohio State visits Maryland on Nov. 19. Tickets are $92, but you can pay way more if you want to. That same goes for the $87 tickets available for the Baltimore Ravens vs. Denver Broncos game on Dec. 4. Rounding out the sports list is Navy hosting Notre Dame at M&T Bank Stadium on Nov. 12. Tickets are $80.
