It’s been a fantastic start to the season for the Baltimore Orioles, who are certain to make the MLB playoffs and lead the AL East across Maryland sports betting.
While Baltimore loves leading its own division, they own the third best record across MLB, so it’s safe to say that it’s been a picture perfect start to the baseball season in the Charm City.
That strong start has captured the attention of the nation’s preeminent oddsmakers, with the team at sportsbooks like Bet365 currently giving the O’s the fourth best World Series odds of any team, at +750, ranking behind the Dodgers (+330), Yankees (+500) and Phillies (+600). BetMaryland.com is home to all Orioles standings throughout the season.
Since Brandon Hyde’s team has Orioles fans thinking about the Fall Classic already this summer, it's time to think about each factor that will influence the O's record this season. That led BetMaryland.com to break down how Baltimore has fared in the franchise’s specialized “City Connect” uniforms.

Donning Baltimore-centric jerseys wasn’t always a good thing for last year’s AL East champion Orioles, who went 4-5 in their City Connect jerseys, speaking to the fact that looking good doesn’t necessarily imply that you’ll play good on the diamonds of MLB.
Overall, the 2023 Orioles averaged 4.98 runs in 2023, while giving up 4.19 runs against in 2023. Proving the disparity while wearing the City Connect jerseys last year.
Orioles In City Connect Jerseys: 2024 Statistics
Record | Runs For (Avg.) | Runs Against (Avg. |
4-6 | 3.375 | 3.35 |
The O's in the "City Connect" unis got off to a dreary start this season, with Baltimore losing each of their first three City Connect games and the club averaging 1.0 runs per game to 5.7 runs allowed during those contests. However, since then (and since this article was originally published), Baltimore has slightly improved to 4-6 after a tough July, where they lost more games than they won.
The O's are now also averaging 3.375 runs in the unis, while allowing 3.35. While that's an improvement from the start of the season, Baltimore will have to do better if they want to succeed in October.
