As the Baltimore Orioles look to reach the MLB postseason for the third straight season for the first time since the 1969-1971 seasons, it’s worth wondering which O’s players are doing the most on the field while earning the least, monetarily.
Whether it’s an MVP contender like Gunnar Henderson or one of the other up-and-coming position players, such as infielder Jordan Westburg or outfielder Colton Cowser, Baltimore’s cast of low-earning stars in the making help explain the team’s recent diamond renaissance.
BetMaryland.com used Fangraphs.com to gather the 2025 salary information and projected 2025 WAR for each Baltimore Orioles player. We then divided the salary by the player’s projected WAR to determine the players’ potential value, expressed as dollars per WAR point. Check out our best Maryland sports betting promo codes as well.

The Orioles have gone from the American League East cellar in 2021 to the postseason in 2023 and 2024, with a combined record of 192-132 in that span.
This year, oddsmakers from DraftKings Maryland Sportsbook give Baltimore -175 odds of reaching the playoffs again in 2025, with +285 odds of winning the AL East for the second time in three years. That’s behind the New York Yankees, who are listed at +110, and ahead of the Boston Red Sox (+425), Tampa Bay Rays (+750) and Toronto Blue Jays (+1500).
Which Orioles Players Are Most Undervalued
With each of the three O’s undervalued stars in the making earning the league minimum of $800,000 in 2025, it’s easy enough to calculate the value (salary per WAR total) of each. Henderson ranking atop the trio with a projection of 6.7 WAR and a value of $119,403. This research is from betMaryland.com as part of our Maryland sports betting coverage.
Henderson, who ranks fourth on DraftKings’ AL MVP odds board at +750, ranks ahead of Westburg (3.7 WAR projection/$216,216 value) and Cowser (3.1 WAR projection/$258,065 value) on the O’s value leaderboard, proving himself to be one of the most undervalued players in the league at large.
The second-round pick in the 2019 MLB Draft will look to pick up where he left off a year ago. In 2024, Henderson had a career-high 8.0 WAR (according to fangraphs.com) in 159 games. He bashed 37 home runs and knocked in 92 RBIs for the O’s while earning the title of being the most undervalued player on Baltimore’s 40-man roster from us.
