Caesars & Horseshoe Baltimore Prepare for MD Sports Betting

The Horseshoe Baltimore’s, Caesars, will be anchored by an award-winning brew pub dining concept that is expected to open later this year, the casino announced Wednesday.

In addition, the casino is redesigning its table games section on the first floor as the Horseshoe prepares the onsite and online launch of the operator; which comes with Caesars Sportsbook Maryland promo codes in anticipation of state regulators greenlighting licenses for betting.

The Brew Brothers debuted in 1995 and has been a star at the Eldorado Resort Casino in Reno, Nevada, where it has been named the Best Brewpub in America by Nightclub & Bar magazine. The pub restaurant will feature local draft beers, handcrafted cocktails and a range of food options including custom burgers, wings, salads, ribs, pizzas, tacos, pasta dishes and desserts.

The Brew Brothers was developed by the Carano family and has been voted “Best Microbrew, “Best Beer Selection” and “Best Live Music” in several Best of Reno polls. Anthony Carano is president and chief operating officer of Caesars Entertainment; prior to Eldorado acquiring Caesars, he was president and COO of Eldorado. His grandfather, Don Carano, founded Eldorado Resorts.

The pub will seat a total of 250 customers, both indoors and on an outdoor patio, and is expected to open in the fourth quarter of 2021.

“We’re thrilled to introduce The Brew Brothers concept to Baltimore,” Carano said. “In addition to serving up the best pub food in Baltimore, we also will be collaborating with four exceptional local brewers – DuClaw Brewing Company, Union Craft Brewing, Checkerspot Brewing Company and Diamondback Brewing Company – to offer our guests 24 of the region’s most popular draft beer options. The Brew Brothers will be the place in Charm City to check out all the action for sports betting in Maryland beginning later this football season.”

The restaurant is currently under development, as is the Caesars Sportsbook. Regarding the sportsbook, the casino described in its news release “an extraordinary audio/video guest experience (that will) include two ‘fan caves’ for private group parties.” The sportsbook and brew pub will be adjacent.

Importance of Diversity & Inclusion

Diversity and inclusion are important elements in Maryland’s approach to the sports wagering industry and the Horseshoe noted that “consistent with Horseshoe Baltimore’s commitment to supporting local minority business enterprises, prominent Baltimore general contractor Mahogany Inc. is performing the renovation and construction work on both the new restaurant and the sportsbook.”

While The Brew Brothers is expected to open in the fourth quarter, the sportsbook’s opening will be determined by the state’s regulatory review process, which has a dual structure. The recently-appointed Sports Wagering Application Review Commission and the Maryland Lottery and Gaming Control Agency are accepting applications from prospective retail operators and recently held a public comment session.

As many as 17 applicants have been identified as eligible to submit applications. It has been anticipated that businesses, such as casinos, that have already been through investigations because of previous gambling applications would be among the first to get started. But dozens of retail licenses will be available as Maryland gambling operations evolve in the state.

Online Sports Betting Likely in 2022

Meanwhile, online sports wagering is not expected to launch in Maryland until sometime in 2022. Again, scores of licenses will be available.

“No sportsbook is complete without great food and drinks,” Horseshoe Baltimore Senior Vice President and General Manager Randy Conroy said. “As sports wagering is approved in Maryland, the addition of The Brew Brothers sports bar and restaurant will make the Horseshoe the best place in the region for guests to catch their favorite games.”

Earlier in September, the Baltimore Ravens and Horseshoe Casino announced a five-year agreement that will see the Caesars brand splashed across M&T Bank Stadium.

Horseshoe Baltimore will hire a total of 60 new employees to staff The Brew Brothers. The venue is currently seeking candidates to serve as cooks, wait staff and bartenders. Those interested in applying for open positions can do so here. New hires will receive a $500 signing bonus after 90 days.
