With the NFL Combine in full swing and free agency set to begin March 12, the 2025 offseason is officially underway. Most Baltimore Ravens fans are still licking their wounds following a disappointing 27-25 defeat to the Buffalo Bills in the Divisional Round of the playoffs.
BetMaryland.com, as part of our Maryland sports betting coverage, thought it would be appropriate to identify the Baltimore players also suffering ā financially speaking, that is. Using data from Spotrac.com, we identified the Ravens who lost the most money to league fines in 2024.
We also did a little window shopping to calculate what the worst offenders could have purchased with that money instead, putting a real-life sticker price to their on-field transgressions.

The Raven with the most money lost to NFL fines during the 2024 season was cornerback Marlon Humphrey. The four-time Pro Bowler is a true ball hawk, recording 19 interceptions and 15 forced fumbles over his eight seasons in the league. But his aggressive style got him in trouble with the league this year to the tune of more than $90,000.
Most of that money came in two hotly contested games. First, in Baltimoreās Week 10 clash against the Cincinnati Bengals, Humphrey earned two fines ā $22,511 for illegal use of the helmet and $11,255 for a face-mask penalty. The second game was that playoff loss in Buffalo, where Humphrey paid big time for a helmet-to-helmet hit on Bills quarterback Josh Allen. No flag was thrown on the play, but the league still penalized the cornerback $45,020.
Meanwhile, Nnamdi Madubuike checks in as the Raven who lost the second-most money to NFL fines. Known for his disruptive play style, Madubuike clearly dialed up the aggression too far in 2024. The dominating defensive tackle not only paid $56,277 in fines, but he also committed more roughing the passer penalties (four) than any other player in the NFL. Thatās certainly not what general manager Eric DeCosta was hoping for when he signed Madubuike to a three-year extension last offseason.
As for the remainder of the most-fined Ravens on our list, their totals are all lower because they each only committed a single infraction. For instance, linebackers Odafe Oweh ($20,050 for impermissible use of the helmet) and Roquan Smith ($16,883 for a horse collar tackle) learned their lesson early, committing their only fineable offences during the NFL opener against the Kansas City Chiefs.
These fines might seem like chump change to millionaire NFL players such as Humphrey and Madubuike. But at BetMaryland.com, where you can track Baltimore Ravens playoff chances before next season, we wondered what else that money could have been spent on.

Had Marlon Humphrey been more disciplined on the field in 2024, he could have copped a Patek Philippe Nautilus, arguably the most coveted wristwatch in the world. Alternatively, the Alabama alumās fines would have paid for a 1-week luxury yacht rental in the Mediterranean. Humphrey could have also booked out three luxury suites at a 2025 home game inside M&T Bank Stadium ā that would be enough room for his family, his entourage, and his entourageās family.
Madubuike paid about $30K less in fines. Had he kept that money in his checking account, the D-lineman could have scored a Rolex Day-Date 40 wristwatch or front row tickets to every 2025 home game for his closest friends and family.
In case you were wondering, the fines collected by the NFL arenāt spent on wristwatches, game tickets, or luxury vacations. They are donated to two different charitable causes. The first is the NFLPAās Professional Athletes Foundation, which supports players post-retirement. The second supports the NFL Foundation, whose stated mission is to support and grow the game of football.
