Best NFL Teams In October

Fact Checked by Jim Tomlin

Over the past decade, few NFL teams have fared better on the gridirons of the league than the Baltimore Ravens. Under coach John Harbaugh, they have 98 wins between 2014 and 2023, ranking in a tie with the Dallas Cowboys for sixth overall during that span. This year’s Baltimore Ravens Super Bowl odds are strong even after an opening lost to the Chiefs in Kansas City.

Baltimore has made the postseason six times in the past seven seasons, reaching the Divisional Round in 2014, 2019 and 2020, along with an AFC Conference Championship berth in 2023 and a Wild Card round defeat in 2018.

With all that in mind, we went through the archives to dig out where the Ravens rank in the NFL when it comes to October wins in the past five years. Harbaugh and company have been thriving of late during the 10th month of the year. Stay with BetMaryland.com for the best Maryland sports betting promo codes all NFL season.

Ravens NFL’s Best In October Games Since 2019

In a trend worth watching for fans and Maryland sportsbooks customers, Harbaugh’s bunch has built a steady empire on the back of the first full month of the NFL’s regular season. The Ravens own the best winning percentage, at .800, in October games over the past half a decade.

This season’s opening loss to the two-time defending champion Chiefs, on Sept. 5, hasn’t taken too much of the wind from Baltimore’s collective sails. DraftKings Maryland Sportsbook still has the Ravens at +1200 to win the club’s first Super Bowl since 2012. That ranks fifth overall behind the Chiefs (+475), San Francisco 49ers (+550), then the Philadelphia Eagles and Detroit Lions (+1000 each).

Of the 32 teams that play in the NFL, none have been better in October over the last five seasons than the Ravens. Baltimore has gone 16-4 (.800) during that span, beating out the Minnesota Vikings (15-5), Buffalo Bills and Tennessee Titans (14-6 each) during that span.

Conversely, the Lions (6-14/.300), Washington Commanders and Carolina Panthers (7-16/.304 each) have posted the worst October winning percentages since 2019. Our Baltimore Ravens betting guide has more info.

Interestingly, the two-time defending Super Bowl champs from Kansas City are tied for eighth overall by that metric, alongside the Dallas Cowboys, with both NFL stalwarts going 13-8 (.619) in October over the last five years.

This season, the Ravens will look to add to their impressive October winning percentage in the team’s quartet of games that month against the Cincinnati Bengals (Oct. 6), Tampa Bay Buccaneers (Oct. 21) and Cleveland Browns (Oct. 27) on the road. Baltimore hosts the Commanders on Oct. 13 in the team’s lone home game during the month.

Before then, the Ravens have their home opener on Sunday (1 p.m. Eastern) against Las Vegas at M&T Bank Stadium. Check out BetMaryland’s Ravens vs. Raiders odds to track line movement throughout the week.
