One of the most successful MLB teams of late happens to play baseball in the Charm City. The Baltimore Orioles are coming off three consecutive winning seasons and an American League East divisional crown in 2023.

Where Do The Baltimore Orioles Rank?

Across the majors, only six teams posted better total scores than the Orioles’ overall average ranking of 10.5 when we combined rankings from all four categories that we used to measure these teams.

The O’s tied the Philadelphia Phillies for seventh and were just ahead of the Texas Rangers (11.75 overall average ranking) and Houston Astros (12.5). The World Series champion Los Angeles Dodgers were the top team by our metrics, with a total overall average ranking of 4.5.

BetMGM Maryland Sportsbook has the Orioles at +240 odds of winning the AL East for the second time in three years, behind the New York Yankees (+110) and ahead of the Boston Red Sox (+425), Tampa Bay Rays (+800) and Toronto Blue Jays (+1800).

Aside from the Dodgers, the franchises with better scores than Baltimore in 2025 were the Chicago Cubs (5.5 overall average ranking), Red Sox (6.5), Seattle Mariners (9.0), Atlanta Braves (9.5) and New York Mets (9.75).

Conversely, the worst team to root for was Toronto (24.5 overall average ranking). Three downtrodden franchises were just ahead of the Blue Jays, each with an average ranking of 22.5: The Los Angeles Angels, Washington Nationals and the Athletics, who are playing in Sacramento temporarily after leaving Oakland.
