Maryland’s Favorite Fast-Food Restaurants

Fact Checked by Jim Tomlin

Americans have divided loyalties about which fast-food proprietors they prefer most. Opinions run the gamut when it comes to which restaurant is the best in the space when it comes to getting your food promptly.

Whether it be industry mainstays McDonald’s, Wendy’s or Burger King, or a fast-rising chain like Raising Cane’s or Chick-fil-A, the top picks when it comes to fast-food joints in Maryland are almost as varied as the landscape of the Old-Line State.

Fast Food Day is Nov. 16, so BetMaryland.com – where we serve you top Maryland sports betting promos – decided to analyze the most popular fast food chain restaurants for Maryland residents. We checked out internet search results for each chain, with the data period from Nov. 7, 2023 to Nov. 7, 2024. Coffee chains were not counted in this research.

What is Maryland’s Favorite Fast-Food Chain?

Placing atop the state’s fast-food list for 2024 is the restaurant that practically created the industry: McDonald’s. The chain had a search interest total of four points in the period we researched, beating Chick-fil-A (three points) and a host of chains tied with two points apiece: Wendy’s, Burger King, Taco Bell, Chipotle and Popeyes.

Throw in four more chains in Raising Cane’s, Jersey Mike’s Subs, Qdoba and Dairy Queen (one search interest point each) and you have the full list of Maryland’s top fast-food restaurants for the year. But none could keep pace with the Golden Arches in the land of Maryland sportsbook apps.

Given the fact that the chain that started in sunny California has 280 locations in Maryland, it’s likely of little surprise that residents of the Old-Line State have such an affinity for McDonald’s, with the American food monolith ranking atop the rankings in the state for 2024.
