Who Are The Most Famous Celebrity August Birthdays?

There are few things that Americans love more than tracking the daily happenings of celebrities – just like we track Maryland sports betting trends here at BetMaryland.com. Big screen stars, TV standouts and professional athletes are an endless source of fascination.

Even celebrity birthdays are a topic of interest, especially if we share a birthdate with a famous person. So we were curious about the most famous people born in August. Using FamousBirthdays.com and SEMRush.com, we found the search volume for famous folks with August birthdays and ranked them based on search volume. The volume is based on searches in the United States from June 12 to July 12, 2024.

Jennifer Lawrence, Then Three Sports Stars

Overall, the most searched-for person among famous August birthdays was Lawrence, an Academy Award winner. She garnered a search volume total of 1,830,000, far ahead of three famed sports stars.

Brady, NBA star guard Ja Morant and Pro Football Hall of Fame cornerback and Colorado football coach Deion Sanders had search volume totals of 1 million apiece as the three current or former athletes tied for second.

Of those top four celebs with August birthdays, Lawrence was born Aug. 15, 1990, in Kentucky. Brady was born Aug. 3, 1977, in Northern California; Morant on Aug. 10, 1999, in South Carolina; and Sanders on Aug. 9, 1967, in Fort Myers, Florida.

Other Celebrities With August Birthdays

Social media star Kylie Jenner, singer Madonna and actor Jason Momoa were the next closest with scores of 823,000 apiece. Jenner was born Aug. 10, 1997, in Los Angeles; Momoa arrived Aug. 1, 1979, in Honolulu and Madonna Louise Ciccone, a member of the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame, came into the world Aug. 16, 1958, in Bay City, Michigan.

Rounding out the top 10 nationally for famous folks with August birthdays were actors Ben Affleck (800,000 search volume total) and, in a tie for ninth, actor Robert De Niro and NFL quarterback Jalen Hurts (673,000 apiece).

Of that final trio of celebs, Affleck was born on Aug. 15, 1972, in Berkeley, California. De Niro was born Aug. 17, 1943, in New York City and Hurts arrived Aug. 7, 1998, in Houston. Hurts’ team, the Philadelphia Eagles, are high on Super Bowl preseason odds boards, but so is Maryland’s NFL team. All 10 entered the zeitgeist in different ways but all share one thing: A birthday in the eighth calendar month. That gives us reason to join them in celebrating their big days in the weeks ahead.

As for the most famous athlete born in August who has Maryland connections? It would be tough to beat Baseball Hall of Famer and Orioles legend Cal Ripken. One of the most beloved players in MLB history, Ripken was born Aug. 24, 1960 in Havre de Grace. He went on to play 21 seasons in the Majors, all with Baltimore, where he was a 19-time All-Star and set the MLB record for consecutive games played at 2,632.
