The NFL season is months away, but Maryland sportsbooks will look forward to two top betting draws for the DMV region, the Baltimore Ravens and Washington Commanders. Both have promising prospects for the fall and winter.
Ahead of the 2025 NFL season, BetMaryland.com wanted to see which NFL teams have the craziest, most exciting fan experience at their games. We factored in how loud each stadium is on average, whether betting is legal in the state – points for retail-only, but more for both mobile and retail options – and how many fans attend both home and away games.
The formula for determining top NFL fan atmosphere was developed exclusively for BetMaryland, where you’ll find top Maryland sports betting promos before, during and after NFL season.
We derived stadium volume rankings from a Total Pro Sports video. The ranking for attendance comes from pro-football-reference.com data.
The NFL offseason is shaping trajectories in dramatic ways. Subplots include record-breaking contracts (the Cincinnati Bengals’ massive contractual commitments), roster dysfunction (Deshaun Watson and Cleveland Browns), or teams relying on the draft to change their direction (Tennessee Titans, you are on the clock). These moves don’t just impact the playing field – they can dictate the energy in the stands long before Week 1 kicks off and even alter Maryland NFL betting odds.
New Success Leads To Surprising No. 1
In Maryland, the “Ravens Flock” – Baltimore’s loyal fanbase – has earned its reputation as one of the NFL's most electrifying and loudest crowds, routinely transforming M&T Bank Stadium into a deafening sea of purple. With another playoff-caliber team taking the field this season, expect that home-field advantage to be stronger than ever.
But the competition for the NFL's best fanbase is fierce. And a team that has emerged as a contender in the past two season after decades in the wilderness is atop the list.
Detroit’s remarkable three-year transformation from “Same Old Lions” to NFC contenders has ignited one of football's most passionate fanbases, turning Ford Field into a fearing fortress. While their Divisional Round exit in January stung, Lions faithful should be optimistic. FanDuel Maryland Sportsbook lists them with +125 odds to win the NFC North and +1000 to win the Super Bowl, as of April 4.
The Kansas City Chiefs have dominated both on the field and in the stands in recent seasons. “Chiefs Kingdom” has been long considered the NFL's gold standard for rabid fanbases and they’re second on our list.
The rest of the AFC West will need to play catchup to the Chiefs, who have -110 odds to win the division next season at Caesars Maryland Sportsbook.
But a disappointing performance in Super Bowl 59, an aging roster and a quiet offseason have raised questions about whether their fanbase can maintain its top-dog status. Based on our scoring, the Lions now maintain a lead over the Chiefs on fan engagement metrics, 179-177.

Where Baltimore Ravens Rank For Best Fan Atmosphere
The Ravens Flock deservingly secured a top-10 position in the rankings, tied with the Arizona Cardinals for ninth at 155 points. With back-to-back AFC North titles, the Ravens are favorites to secure their third in a row and Baltimore Ravens Super Bowl odds are strong as well. At several Maryland sportsbook apps that we surveyed on April 4, the Ravens have +700 odds to win Super Bowl 60 in February 2026.
As of April 4, Caesars has -115 odds on Baltimore to win the division again, well ahead of the Cincinnati Bengals (+220 odds), the Pittsburgh Steelers (+400) and the Cleveland Browns (+2400).
